Am I getting scammed?
Answer a few questions and tell Mathew Martello what is happening. It is free and takes about 3 minutes. You see the warning signs as soon as you send it.
Do not share passwords, bank numbers or card numbers. If money is moving right now, call your bank first, then report it at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. We do not recover money, and we never charge to try.
What Scam Check will look like
A sample we made to show the format: the call, the name bars, the red flags and the vote. It is not a real call, and it has no sound.
How Scam Check works
Someone who is not sure gets on a video call with Mathew. They agree to be recorded before anything else.
Mathew listens, names the red flags and gives his opinion. Names and faces stay private unless they choose otherwise.
Viewers vote on whether it is a scam. The vote is only an opinion, not proof.
Everyone on a call says yes on camera before we talk and signs a release before anything is published. We talk about red flags. We do not name or show the other person or a company. Nobody is laughed at.
